Sharjah Art Museum

This 3-story museum was inaugurated in 1997 and has 72 galleries that have temporary and permanent exhibitions. The art pieces that are featured in this museum are mostly focused on Arabian culture and heritage from local and foreign artists.

Central Market Sharjah/ Sharjah Blue Souk
The most popular part of Sharjah City is the Central Market which is also known as the Blue Souk. The outside walls of this traditional Arabian shopping center are decorated with blue tiles. The blue walls are the reason that this shopping center is known by the name Blue Souk.
There are more than 600 stores in this traditional market where you can find all kinds of products in them including gold, clothes, perfume, etc. but it’s mostly famous for the carpet and gold.
The Blue Market is a perfect place for purchasing souvenirs and gifts. You can finish your tour by drinking a cup of traditional tea or coffee at this shopping center’s coffee shops.

Sharjah Science Museum
Usually, children don’t like museums and they find them boring but the Sharjah Science Museum is specifically designed and built for children. This museum is trying to teach scientific facts and theories to children in an amusing way.
It features interactive exhibits that challenge your children into testing their knowledge, talent, and abilities. The Sharjah Science Museum is the only museum in UAE with interactive exhibits.

Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization
Another great museum in Sharjah city that you shouldn’t miss is the Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization. If you are looking for a place to get familiar with the roots of Islamic/Arabic culture and heritage this is the place for you.
There are souvenirs and historic pieces like handwritten books and traditional handicrafts from the 7th century to the 19th century. This museum will take you back in time and shows you the Islamic and Arabic lifestyle through time and how they changed.

Al Noor Island
The most relaxing area in Sharjah City is without a doubt Al Noor Island. The Al Noor Island is a combination of art and nature that will take your mind off the problems and struggles of your life.
The most exciting part of this park is the butterfly house that holds more than 500 kinds of butterflies.

Sharjah Fort (Al Hisn)
Sharjah Fort was built in the year 1820 by the ruler of Sharjah at that time; Sheikh Sultan Bin Saqr. This historic place will take you back in time to see the importance of UAE and Sharjah City in the Persian Gulf region. You can on top of the Sharjah Fort and see the entire city and parts of the Persian Gulf from there.
