Lusail Stadium is a football stadium in Lusail, Qatar. Owned by the Qatar Football Federation, the stadium is the largest in Qatar and the Middle East by capacity Additionally, it is one of eight stadiums constructed for the FIFA World Cup in 2022. Construction of Lusail Stadium
The procurement process for the stadium renovation began in 2014. In a partnership with China Railway Construction Corporation, HBK Contracting built the stadium. Like other stadiums planned for the 2022 World Cup, Lusail Stadium will reportedly be solar-cooled and have zero carbon footprint.
Construction began on April 11, 2017. The stadium’s completion was initially slated for 2020. Three friendly matches were to be played there before the 2022 World Cup, but after the completion of the stadium has been postponed, 10 matches will be played there, including the final.
After the World Cup
After the World Cup, it will be converted into a 40,000-seat stadium. Extra seating will be removed and other parts of the building will be repurposed as community spaces with shops, cafes, sports, educational facilities, and clinics.

Fact in 2021
A 2021 Guardian study found that more than 6,500 migrant workers from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Nepal, and Sri Lanka lost workers during the 2010–2020 World Cup venue construction in Qatar.bottom. The figures used by The Guardian did not include occupations or places of employment, so the death toll could not be positively linked to the World Cup construction program. Construction News commented on the investigation and recalled.
Sports of Lusail Stadium
On 9 September 2022, the Saudi Egypt Super Cup was held at Lusail Stadium. The tournament was designed as a rehearsal for the 2021-22 World Cup final between Saudi Arabian champions Al Hilal and Egyptian champions Zamalek. In front of 77,575 fans in 2021-22. The two teams drew 1-1, with Al Hilal winning 4-1 after a penalty shootout.
AFC Asian Cup 2023
Lusail Stadium had been designated as the venue for his 2023 Asian Cup but was withdrawn on 5 April 2023.

Lusail Stadium has been selected as one of four alternative venues for the 2024 AFC U-23 Asian Cup. With a capacity of 88,966 spectators, the venue was the largest in the history of the AFC U-23 Asian Cup.
