Associations for food aids in France
Linkee Paris has teamed up with the city of Paris to provide students with free food baskets or pre-prepared meals twice a week, regardless of scholarship status. These 5kg baskets, primarily made up of organic products or those from sustainable farming, can make multiple meals.
Students can easily avail of this offer by pre-registering through email at [email protected]. Once registered, they’re free to collect their meal or food basket during distribution times, with no limit on how many times they can do so.
Distributions are hosted at l’ESSpace, a student bar at 15 rue Jean Antoine de Baïf, 75013 Paris. They occur on Mondays and Thursdays between 6:30 PM and 8:00 PM.
Multiple aids at Secours Populaire
Le Secours Populaire in Paris is here to help students with two antennas for easy access. They give students free food aid, hobby help, and clothing aid from their charity shop, all by appointment. This help is for all students, whether they have a scholarship or not.
Students can make an appointment, and a volunteer will look at their situation and needs to give them the necessary help. At the Bayet antenna, students can get help on Tuesdays from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Fridays from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Just send an email to [email protected] to fix an appointment. For the Jussieu antenna at Sorbonne Université, students can walk in without an appointment on Thursdays from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Just show a student card and a statement of financial resources. This is only for students of the Jussieu campus.
Distribution Center Restos du Coeur de Paris
Restos du Cœur in Paris, supported by CROUS of Paris and the city, has a center to give food aid to students. This center is for students living in Paris who fit into the income limits set by Restos du Coeur de Paris. Students can get food packages filled with things like milk, canned food, rice, pasta, and desserts.
Soon, they’ll also add fresh items like fruits and vegetables, all while keeping healthy eating in mind. To get this food help, students have to register at the Restos du Coeur de Paris distribution center. They can register there by talking to a volunteer from The Restos du Coeur.
This meeting is also a chance to talk about other kinds of help they might need. Students need to bring an ID, proof they live in Paris, and papers showing their money situation. Food aid is given out at 8 rue Francis de Croisset, 75018 Paris on Tuesdays from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
