Oman climate is subtropical, and dry as well with summer monsoons and hot, dusty winds. The annual average temperature is from 10°C to 12°C in the north while ranging from 16°C to 18°C in the south. In the north, the average amount of annual rainfall is between 150 mm and 300 mm while in the south, it is ranging from 50 mm to 150 mm.

oman has really high degree of temperature in summer and there is a clear difference between maximum and minimum daily temperatures, especially in the inland areas. The best time for visiting Oman, and excursions in the mountains and the deserts, or even strolling in the cities, is winter. From December to February the weather is sunny, the coast is warm and the desert is quite warm during the day, but at night is cool, and even in the mountains is cold. However, in December, there is the possibility of tropical cyclones. As formerly mentioned, the sea is warm all year in Oman. The air temperature in Oman is good most of the year, in January, the temperature sometimes is a bit cool on the shore of the Persian Gulf, for those who are sensitive to cold.

For the coastal mountain range bring light clothes for the day and a jacket for the evening and night.

In the summer, Oman is really hot so for Muscat, the north, and the desert, take loose-fitting, light clothes which are made from natural fabrics like cotton or linen, a desert turban, and a jacket and a scarf for the air-conditioned places. For lofty mountains, bring light and thin clothes, a sun hat or sunscreen, and a jacket for the evening and night. On the Arabian Sea shore, light clothes, a scarf for the breeze and a light jacket, and a light raincoat are essential. For the coastal mountain in the south, autumn clothes, a light jacket, and a raincoat are necessary. It’s good for women to don’t wear shorts and miniskirts out of tourist spots.
