What’s inside the Burj Khalifa?

Burj Khalifa's Secret: 2,909 Stairwells and More

One of the world’s most recognizable skyscrapers and most beautiful contemporary structures, Burj Khalifa can be found in the heart of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. With a height of 2,722 feet, it is the tallest structure ever constructed by humans.

The architect behind Burj Khalifa, Adrian Smith of Chicago’s Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, is also responsible for other notable buildings around the world, including China’s Jin Mao Tower and Wuhan Greenland Center, and Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah Tower, which is widely predicted to overtake Burj Khalifa as the tallest structure in the world.

The building’s creators had originally envisioned it as a residential complex, but they have now converted it into a mixed-use building.

There are primarily three types of tenants at Burj Khalifa: residents, businesses, and hotels. The tower’s 900 apartments range in size from studios to four-bedroom penthouses, and they are spread out across floors 19-108. Living in the highest building in the world comes with perks, including access to a health club with two gyms and a spa on four floors, an indoor pool, a jacuzzi, a library, and a smoking room.

The Armani Hotel Dubai, the first hotel designed by Georgio Armani, can be found on the 122nd floor, while the At. Mosphere fine dining restaurant and the At The Top Burj Khalifa SKY and the Lounge Burj Khalifa sky lounges can be found on floors 124, 125, 148, 152, 153, and 154, respectively. Corporate rooms can be found on floors 112 to 154.

Let’s explore Burj Khalifa floor by floor!

There are offices, apartments, a hotel and club, a restaurant, an observation deck, and a communications hub in the Burj Khalifa. For example:

Emaar Hotels & Resorts is the owner and operator of the Armani Hotel.

There are 900 different people making their homes on the building’s residential levels. Some people have as many as 22 apartments in their name.

Rather than being rented out, the building’s 37 levels of office space seem to have been sold as corporate suites. You may see adverts for these executive apartments for sale on several UAE real estate listing websites.

Armani occupies levels 39 and below as hotels and apartments, with most apartments located on floors 39 through 108. Offices may be found on every floor above the 108th, including the three public observation decks on floors 124, 125, and 148. At.mosphere, the world’s tallest restaurant, can be found on floor 122.

Levels 154–163 are where you’ll find all of the mechanical floors.

From the basement all the way up to the 160th story, there are 2,909 stairwells. It has an enormous number of floors. Although the number of floors of Burj Khalifa is commonly known to be 163, surely a structure with a height of 2717 feet would have more than 163 even if the spire were removed.

The 46 floors above level 163 and below the spire serve as the foundation construction for the spire; hence, the building officially has 209 levels. However, these floors are not inhabited and are not used for practical services.
